Internal Complaint Committee (ICC)

At NDRK First Grade College, we pride ourselves on fostering an environment that upholds gender equality and mutual respect among all members of our community. The ICC is pivotal in addressing and resolving any instances of sexual harassment to maintain a safe and dignified academic and work environment.

What is the ICC? Established under the directives of the POSH Act (Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace Act of 2013, enacted on December 9, 2013) and reinforced by the University Grants Commission Regulations of May 2, 2016, the ICC is dedicated to the prevention, prohibition, and redressal of sexual harassment at the college.

Why is the ICC Important?

  • Prevention: Actively works to prevent sexual harassment and discrimination within the campus.
  • Education: Conducts regular programs on gender sensitivity and women’s empowerment.
  • Environment: Ensures a supportive and respectful atmosphere for all women on campus.

Functions of the ICC:

  • To address complaints involving unwanted physical contact, demands for sexual favors, sexually colored remarks, and other unwelcome physical, verbal, or non-verbal sexual conduct.
  • To initiate appropriate disciplinary action in accordance with college rules and regulations following a thorough investigation of complaints.

Who Can Approach the ICC? The ICC is accessible to any aggrieved woman who has experienced harassment within the college environment, including:

  • Employees of the college
  • Visitors to the college premises
  • Students of the college Additionally, legal heirs or authorized representatives can lodge complaints on behalf of an aggrieved woman who is incapacitated or deceased.
