Women Development Cell (WDC)
Aims and Objectives of the WDC:
The Women Development Cell at NDRK First Grade College is dedicated to fostering a safe, inclusive, and equitable environment for all women within the college community. The WDC focuses on the following key objectives:
- Prevention of Sexual Harassment: Ensuring a safe educational and working environment free from sexual harassment.
- Optimal Working Conditions: Providing suitable conditions regarding work, leisure, health, and hygiene to eliminate any hostile environment against women.
- Grievance Redressal: Offering clear guidelines for addressing grievances related to sexual harassment of female students and staff.
- Gender Discrimination Awareness: Raising social awareness about gender discrimination and women’s issues.
- NGO Collaboration: Encouraging collaboration with NGOs active in women’s development.
- Educational Workshops: Organizing seminars and workshops to engage the college community in proactive discussions and activities.
- Empowerment through Self-Employment: Promoting self-reliance among women through training on self-employment schemes.
- Inclusive College Activities: Forming College Women Development Cells (CWDC) that involve both male and female students in activities like NCC and NSS to prevent sexual harassment.
- Support for CWDC Initiatives: Assisting the CWDC in taking preventive steps against gender discrimination and sexual harassment.
Gender-Based Activities:
In line with the international theme of #BreakTheBias, our college actively engages in gender-based activities that strive to dismantle stereotypes and promote a gender-equal world. These activities are designed to foster an inclusive and equitable society through the following approaches:
- Targeted Activities: Conducting events under the gender theme with specific audiences in mind.
- Expert Involvement: Involving guest speakers and judges who are experts in gender-related fields.
- Achievable Outcomes: Ensuring that the objectives of each activity are clearly defined and met.
- Event Diversity: Ensuring a variety of events without repetition within specified periods.
